Welcome to the City of Lewistown

The City of Lewistown is a Class II Municipality located at the heart of Fergus County. The City has a population of approximately 6,000 residents and is the Fergus County Seat. It operates under a charter that was formed in 1899 and is a City Commission/City Manager form of government.

Sidewalk Incentive program.

To encourage the construction and maintenance of the public sidewalks/concrete of this community, the City of Lewistown will contribute in-kind services for removal of existing deteriorated concrete to eligible projects within the City subject to the conditions set forth herein.

 Public Sidewalk/Concrete Repair Policy

Renewal of animal registration license is due January 1, 2013 (Late renewals may be made before March 1, 2013. If not paid by February 28th it shall be subject to a license fee at twice the established rate.) Ord. #1742

City Commission meets monthly on the 1st and 3rd Monday at 307 W. Watson. The Committee of the Whole meeting is at 6:00 PM and the regular City Commission meeting is at 7:00 PM

Business License are due each year on December 31st
All persons required to be licensed under the terms of this title shall be assessed a penalty as determined by resolution of the City Commission for each full month after the passage of sixty (60) days' delinquency in obtaining a license. (Lewistown City Code 5-5-15)
