Finance Director
The Finance Director is also the City Clerk. Functions of this position require budget administration, investment management, debt managment, human resources, purchasing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger accounting. Data processing is extensively used in department operations. Virtually all accounting, licensing, payroll, utility billing and purchasing functions are now computerized.
City Clerk
The City Office Division provides for the security, maintenance and continuity of all official records of the City of Lewistown, as well as providing a record researching service to citizens. The City Clerk is responsible for recording all activities involved in meetings of the City Commission that includes taking, indexing, and filing minutes, ordinances and resolutions. Other types of official records maintained in this office are contracts, deeds, leases, bonds, special assessments, and records of the City-owned cemetery. The City Office also receives and administers applications for various City licenses and permits including business licenses. This office also coordinates public notices, legal publications, and bid notices. This office as well as the sale and administration of bonds handle special assessment financing or projects within the City.
